Where to find settings

You can access your profile settings from the gear icon in the upper right corner of your personal profile screen.

Main settings options

SeaPeople offers a variety of settings to help you personalize your experience and make the most of the app’s features. Here’s a breakdown of what you can configure in the Settings tab:

Location sharing

Adjust your visibility settings to suit your boating style and privacy preferences. Detailed instructions for configuring location sharing (e.g., Live, Pinned, or Hidden) can be found in the Location settings article.

Tracking precision

Optimize your tracking based on your trip type and battery preferences:

  • High precision: Ideal for short trips or when you want detailed route tracking. Consumes more battery.

  • Medium precision: Balanced option for moderate trips with good detail and reasonable battery usage.

  • Low precision: Best for long trips where conserving battery is a priority.

Map settings

Customize how your map looks and works. Choose between different map styles to suit your preferences.

Data Reduction

Reduce the amount of data SeaPeople needs by keeping videos from loading on SeaPeople. This is a perfect way to keep data usage as low as possible when using a cellular or satellite connection that has data limits, fees, or throttles.

Units of measure

Select the units for distance and speed that match your needs.
