Verified groups in SeaPeople gain added visibility and credibility, making them stand out in the community. Here’s how to request group verification and the requirements your group must meet to qualify.

Submit your request
Wait for review
Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by the SeaPeople moderation team. It may take a couple days. You will receive a notification with the decision or any additional steps needed.
Requirements and criteria for group verification
To ensure that verified groups maintain quality and relevance, we look for the following before verifying a group.
Established club, organization, or association with existing members outside of SeaPeople.
Existing organizations with membership bases, events, gatherings, etc.In-person Gatherings
Groups that go beyond discussion and also create recurring, in-person, gatherings. Examples are rallies, boat shows, flotilla events, fishing tournaments, etc.Active Membership
A verified group should demonstrate consistent activity, such as regular posts and engagement from members.Adherence to Guidelines
The group must comply with SeaPeople’s community standards, promoting a safe and respectful environment.Relevance to the Boating Community
The group’s content and discussions should align with the interests and values of SeaPeople users and the reason SeaPeople users use the platform. Keep it relevant to batting and boaters life.
