For those who love cooking and sharing meals on board
We like to feel fully capable of cooking whatever we’re craving. This list is our way of sharing the practical galley gear we’ve come to rely on.
We want the things we bring onboard to earn their space. These are the items that have done just that for us. They help make meals taste better without adding clutter or fuss. Simple, practical upgrades that people rarely buy for themselves, making them great gifts. A small way to spoil the cook with things they’ll actually use.

Knife Sharpener- AccuSharp

The AccuSharp sharpener is one of those things you don’t think about until you really need it. Filleting a fish with a dull knife is not cool, and this little tool keeps your blades ready without any learning curve. If you want to take it a step further, their knife kit is a solid add-on. It’s built for people who actually break down their own catch and don’t want to fight their tools while doing it. Highly recommend one of these bad boys onboard.

"What To Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking"- Caroline Chambers

Caroline Chambers is a source of simple meals with loads of substitutes. She doesn't even know that she is speaking to a boater audience 🙂 but we love the simplicity and minimal dishes her recipes require. It will change the way you approach dinner in the galley.
As for gifting, she has a beautiful cookbook sharing her recipes and stories— but the best part is the way she translates substitutions. So whether it is a lack of provisions or a dietary restricted crew, she walks you through transforming dishes. She also has a Substack subscription which sends a recipe or menu to your inbox each week, helping you stay creative and diverse in the galley.

Cast Iron Oven - Le Creuset

This little mighty piece of cookware goes from stovetop to oven, saving space and adding a pop of color alongside your nesting stainless steel pots and pans.
If you do more cooking over an open flame on the beach than in your galley, may we suggest the Lodge Cast Iron Skillet. It will go from stovetop to oven to beach bonfire. Truly a multitasker— just be sure to keep it oiled up to prevent rust.
