No matter where you are in your sailing journey, there’s always more to discover. This August, SeaPeople and American Sailing, the world’s largest sailing educator, invite you to join the Learn. Teach. Repeat. Challenge.

American Sailing and SeaPeople are giving every successful challenge entrant 30% off online classes* and also giving away 30 online course packs worth over $330 each. That’s over $10,000 in prizes to help you sharpen your skills and deepen your seamanship.
This isn’t just about getting on the water, it’s about showing the moments that make you a better sailor.
What is the Learn. Teach. Repeat. Challenge?
Sailing is a skill you never truly finish learning. You gain confidence through instruction, mistakes, peer advice, and years on the water.
This challenge is your chance to:
Share your skills with crew – Teach your crew a new maneuver, knot, or safety drill
Share your skills with SeaPeople users – Add a tip, a trick, or lesson to your post.
Tell us your journey to competency – How did you learn? Shout out your mentor.
We want photos of you and your crew in action, and stories about how those moments made you a better sailor.
How to Join & Succeed the Challenge
1. Join the challenge & Track a trip in SeaPeople August 16-29th.
2. Tag it to the Learn. Teach. Repeat. Challenge
3. Share your knowledge in your trip post:
• Take someone out boating and teach them something new OR
• Include a skill, lesson, or tip in your post for other SeaPeople users
• You can use video, images, or text—however you can share your skills
4. Or tell your story—how you learned, who taught you, and how you’re paying it forward

✔ Show the skills that took you time to master
✔ Tell the story of how you learned to sail

American Sailing is giving away 30 prize packs valued at over $330 each. Each includes multiple online courses designed to boost your skills.
All participants who successfully complete the challenge will get 30% off online courses.

How We’re Choosing Winners
20 winners picked at random from all tagged, qualifying entries
10 winners chosen for the best teaching or learning stories and photos
All successful participants will have access to 30% off online content*
Multiple entries = more chances to win. So go out and share your skills, share your love of the water, and tag the trips to the challenge so we can all learn from each other.

Open to SeaPeople users globally ages 16+
Prize is one (1) online course pack per winner
Winners will be contacted via the email linked to their SeaPeople account
Multiple entries allowed (one prize max per person)
20 winners selected at random, 10 based on quality of entry
Each entry must include a tracked trip, tagged to the Learn. Teach. Repeat. Challenge, and a photo + written story of a sailing skill learned or taught
Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash
SeaPeople and American Sailing may share submitted content (with credit) for marketing purposes
Joining this challenge automatically joins you to the American Sailing group in SeaPeople
Contest void where prohibited
30% Discount Terms: The 30% discount can only be used on American Sailing on-demand online classes. It cannot be applied to live online class registrations. The discount cannot be used when purchasing a bundle of online classes and cannot be combined with any other discounts or offers. The 30% discount must be redeemed before 12/31/2025.
